At Ignite Product Design, we approach new products in logical phases, not rigid steps.
What is the difference?
Steps imply a fixed sequence with little variation. Phases are flexible increments that adjust based on what is most appropriate for a particular project. Every product has a different level of maturity, and forcing a stepped process can create unnecessary work or costly decisions made too early.
Our phased approach allows us to meet clients where they are and move forward intelligently.
Some clients come to us with nothing more than a vague idea.
In some cases, clients even ask us to generate new ideas within their area of interest. This is where engineering thinking meets structured creativity.
When a client has a high-level vision but no defined solution, Phase One begins.
The goal is not to fall in love with one idea too early. It is to explore intelligently.
Phase Two is about evaluation and selection.
This phase prevents significant engineering time from being invested in the wrong direction. Smart decisions here save enormous cost later.
Phase Three is where the real engineering effort happens.
By the end of this phase, each component is ready for prototype fabrication.
This is where ideas become engineered systems.
Phase Four is the prototype phase.
Importantly, Phase Four often sends us back to Phase Three. We refine and improve the CAD model based on what we learn during testing.
Phases Three and Four are circular. That loop is not a setback. It is a normal and valuable part of developing a successful product.
After prototypes are validated and engineering is finalized, we move into production optimization.
The objective is clear. The product must be manufacturable, repeatable, and cost effective.
For clients who want continued support, we can assist with later-stage activities under our umbrella, including sales and marketing support.
You can enter this process at any phase.
Whether you have a rough sketch, a functional prototype, or a nearly production-ready design, we meet you where you are and help drive the product forward.
If you have a project at any stage of development, reach out to Ignite Product Design. We will help guide it from concept to production.
Whether you have a rough idea, early concepts, or a refined design, we meet you where you are and guide your product to production.
