The Coro-Guard Invention to kill Covid-19.
I am always looking for new invention design projects that make a difference. We were approached by the people at The Invention Challenge https://www.theinventionchallenge.com, with a project they had selected to sponsor. Now keep in mind their selection process is pretty rigorous. They have people submit their invention ideas and out of many (I don’t know the real numbers) ideas they get, the ideas go through a three-tiered review process by their panel of engineers. Sometimes the ideas get to me and I review them as well. This time the idea was so brilliant and could make such a difference, that it just had to make the light of day.
But first some background. Every day I watch the local news here in Las Vegas. Vegas depends on the tourism industry more so than any other city in the world. Not even Orlando has Vegas’s 70% dependency on tourism. Of course here the tourists are primarily interested in the casinos, shows, and world class dining. With the worldwide pandemic, Vegas is perhaps the hardest hit economy anywhere. With the political and economic pressure, the state and city officials have relaxed the pandemic isolation restrictions and have opened up the town to tourism. With neighboring states California and Arizona still closed, the weekend tourists are flocking to Vegas in record numbers. Evidence the traffic jams leaving the city and heading back to Los Angeles each Sunday night.
Just like other cities Vegas requires face masks and temperature screenings before entering establishments. But a visit to pretty much any bar or outdoor pool makes one wonder what happened to the enforcement of those restrictions. At the numbers of people walking through the doors, the door police just can’t keep up with enforcement. Vegas was founded on people that don’t play by the rules and that legend still lives on with those tourist that come here looking for that sort of environment.
Now we are seeking a significant increase in the rate of positive testing here and at the time of this writing this little island in the desert Las Vegas is now the #1 in rate of Covid-19 positive diagnosis. Thanks California and Arizona! It is looking very grim for the future of Las Vegas if the pandemic isn’t controlled and soon. The state legislature recognizes that the party patrons are ignoring the restrictions and that is directly related to the increase in positive tests.
This is why the local news networks every day and night dedicate nearly their entire broadcasts to the spread of the virus and the invention design that crop up every day to combat or at least intend to slow the spread of the virus. Most obvious are the polycarbonate dividers now seen at nearly every gaming table in the casinos, intended to separate the players from the dealers and other players. These are also appearing at the bars and even at the slot machines.
While this may be acceptable to those that are just there to play with their money, it takes away the entire experience of interacting with other like-minded people. Today there was a news spot of a “tunnel” that each person entering the casino must pass, which sprays a disinfectant all over the patron entering the premises. Of course we all have heard of the popularity of using UV light. I don’t know about you, but none of these sound like a good long term user exposure plan.
There must be a better way. Now let’s get back to the proposed idea that was brought to me by The Invention Challenge people. Enter into the scene the Coro-Guard at https://www.coro-guard.com. When I first read about it the concept seemed a bit farfetched, dare I say even snake oil. Just another grab for a piece of the Covid-19 pandemic solution pie. But then I started remembering my college physics and bio engineering. The principal behind the patent-pending technology of the Coro-Guard is to emit a micro frequency energy emission at a specific frequency that will excite the molecular structure of the Covid-19 chain to the point that the energy creates a harmonic vibration that tears the virus chain apart, rendering it dead.
The easiest way to picture this invention design is the opera singer that sings at such a pitch that it breaks the wine glass without actually touching it. The glass as well as the virus strain has a natural frequency that when subjected to energy waves at that same frequency, will cause the molecules to break apart and shatter. Ok, so now we’ve really got something here.
We at Ignite have been tasked to create the device that will do this. We will be designing two variations of the Coro-Guard. The first version we make will be an industrial version that will be used in large areas such as casino floors and convention centers and warehouses. It will hang from the ceiling and emit the signals at a safe for human level and be running full time. It is a passive system that just sits there killing any Covid-19 virus in the air and on surfaces. The next version will be one for home use that will be in an attractive base and sit on tables or entry ways.
I am very excited about this invention design being the only true long term solution to this pandemic and even for those pandemics we have yet to experience. I wish I could tell more about the really exciting features but that will have to wait another time when we do an official press release.
